Grafton Pond, August, 2019.

This view of the lake from my back door always stops me in my tracks. When the sky and clouds are reflected, and the far shore is not visible, I always have the feeling that I am approaching the top of a hill instead of a lake. A feeling of vertigo and infinity.

Last meeting with a few of my Grafton Pond neighbors, August 14-15, 2019.

Two-lined salamander from Grafton stream, 8/14.
One of the South pair's chicks, getting big, 8/14.
Great to see my old friends the sunfish at their own level in the tadpole aquarium.
And a beautiful Pickerel in the canoe, then released.
And finally the elusive mink! The only one I saw at Grafton, and on my last day.

And another 4-day transformation, Spring Peeper.

With all four legs and tail, aquatic, 8/4.
Transformed! Tail gone and climbing to land, 8/8.
Released into marsh where it was captured, 8/8.
