 Jekyll Island beach.

 Shorebirds in marsh, Jekyll Island.

 From public information sign at Jekyll Is. Visitors Center. Showing many terrapins as bycatch from crab traps. Not sure if turtles are dead but probably are. Also it doesn't say if this is a mornings catch or a single traps catch. Either way its pretty shocking.

 I was pleasantly surprised to find this jewel of a river just off the main road in Silver Spring.
Its the North West Branch of the Anacostia River.

Teddy explored it back in 1904.

Dawn at Chatham Light. Let the year begin, full of promise, possibilities, mysteries, the unknown.

 Dad's stonework lives on.

 It was in his blood. This wall has settled in nicely. (with light snow on top)

Using what was at hand. Dad would fill his trunk with rocks when he travelled off the Cape.

It was a treat to see so much open space in Cummaquid.

 Organic farm, where we found a flock of Snow buntings.

 A huge erratic boulder on the golf course.

Looking across the marsh to Chapin beach, where we saw a snowy owl.
